Psychologist

Your role is: Malaysian Ministry of Health Psychologist, Dr. ______________

What you have to do:
You have encountered many cases in which most of them include teenage addiction to cigarettes and drugs. Drawing from your experience and expertise, you are required to analyse and discuss the factors why people, particularly teenagers, smoke. You will also need to justify to your other group members the reasons why the information on why people smoke is important to be included in your group's scrapbook.

You may use these guidelines to support your explanation:
              a) Explain the reasons why people start smoking. You might want to give examples.
              b) In what ways smoking is related to peer pressure and social rewards?
              c) What is 'nicotine withdrawal'? How does it affect smoking addiction?

Here are your reading lists. You may jot down any important points:
              a) 10 Reasons People Start Smoking
              b) Smoking and Cancer: Why People Do Smoke?

Good luck!
